Paris is known for its iconic Eiffel Tower, and for good reason. Standing at over 300 meters tall, the Eiffel Tower is a marvel of engineering and a symbol of France. It’s no wonder that millions of tourists flock to the city each year to get a glimpse of this iconic structure. But where are the best places to see the Eiffel Tower?
Here are five must-see spots for incredible views of the Eiffel Tower:
Seine River
One of the most classic views of the Eiffel Tower is from the Seine River. Taking a stroll down the river will hit you with multiple stunning views of the tower from a unique perspective.
There are also a couple of bridges along the Seine that I’d add to your list (after all, you’re already there so why not?). The Paris Love Lock Bridge, also known as the Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts, was previously famed for couples adding locks to symbolise their eternal love. In 2015, the city of Paris removed all of the locks from the bridge in an effort to preserve the structure and make it safer for pedestrians. While there are still some locks dotted around that have been added since, the view from the bridge alone makes it worth the visit!
The Bir Hakeim Bridge is named after the Battle of Bir Hakeim, which was fought during World War II in the Libyan desert, and is often used as a location for films and television shows. Offering a gorgeous viewpoint of the Eiffel Tower, we visited this spot during the evening, where the tower will put on a sparkly light show every hour.

Rue Saint-Dominique
This street, located in the 7th arrondissement, is probably my favourite for some Parisian street photography.
There are a lot of spots along Rue Saint-Dominique that will offer you stunning views of the tower, but my favourite has to be the intersection between Rue Saint-Dominique and Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg. Here you’ll find the iconic Le Recrutement Café, which provides a beautiful frame of your tower view.

Arc de Triomphe
We all know the Arc de Triomphe, it’s famous as a national symbol of France and as a tribute to the French Armed Forces, particularly those who fought in the Napoleonic Wars. But what many people don’t realise is you can actually climb to the top for some of the best views of the city.
Tickets are free for those under 18 and 18 to 25 year old’s who are EU citizens. Otherwise, it costs 13€ to enter and you can book your tickets online. While you can just show up on the day, please remember that Paris is a massively touristic city and so you can expect very long queues. I’d recommend booking your slot in advance and heading there for the sunset.

Galeries Lafayette Rooftop Terrace
Galeries Lafayette is a luxury department store with a unique and iconic architecture consisting of a glass dome that allows natural light to flood the interior. Upon entry, you can take the elevator to the rooftop terrace. From here, you’ll get a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, as well as the city skyline.
Viewpoint or no, I’d really recommend just popping into the store anyway as the interior really is something beautiful to see in Paris!

Rue de l’Université
Located in the 7th arrondissement, the Rue de l’Université offers excellent views of the Eiffel Tower from a closer perspective to previously mentioned Rue Saint-Dominique. A word of warning: this was also probably the most popular spot of all of them, so you may struggle to get a clear photo!
If you’re ready for full commitment, then you’d need to wake up for the sunrise and head straight here to get *the* photo. Safe to say we just didn’t have the energy so all our photos are pretty busy, but I can see how it’d be totally worth it if you did.

It’s no surprise that this iconic landmark is one of the most photographed in the world. To fully appreciate the beauty of the tower, I really think it’s worth taking the time to visit it from different viewpoints around the city.
Whether you prefer a romantic spot to watch the sunset or a high-rise building with panoramic views, hopefully these top 5 places to see the Eiffel Tower offers something for everyone. So add these locations to your itinerary and make the most of your trip to Paris!
