Europe

Despite travelling the world full time, Europe is the place that always tugs at the hem of my plans. Maybe it’s because it still feels like home in two directions at once, the UK where I’m from, and Italy where my partner grew up. Or maybe it is simply that Europe makes it so easy to slip back into a life you recognise, even when you’ve been away for months.

“Europe is proof that a few hours can change everything”

I grew up in the beautiful Cotswolds before living in Bath for ten years. Even now, I can easily picture those familiar streets in my mind, no effort required. Europe is also where all our family and friends are scattered across different countries, and it’s the place that serves up the comforting food that makes us feel right at home – like a good old cup of tea!

My partner, Manu, is from Liguria, which means Italy has always been a part of our adventures. We find ourselves drawn back to the stunning coastline and its laid-back vibe, but we also return because Italy has gifted us some of our most cherished experiences in Europe.

One of our most cherished memories from Europe actually comes from way up north. We spent an entire month in Lofoten during winter (yep, winter!). The days were short, but the light lingered, casting a warm golden hue that made the sea and snow appear so soft and inviting. We hiked with rosy cheeks and bundled up in layers, and the payoff was always the same: a cosy café break afterwards, cradling something warm in our hands, a cinnamon bun on the side, while we watched the weather dance across the water.
